Refutation of the doctrines of the Pentecostal Movement

The Berlin Declaration (1909)

The undersigned brothers raise their voices to warn against the so-called “Pentecostal Movement”.

After having with great care, and before the Lord examined a vast and authentic documentation we arrived at the following conclusion:

1. The Pentecostal movement is correlated with the Los Angeles movement (America) – Christiana – (Norway) – Hamburg – Kassel – Grossalmerode (Germany). Any attempt would deny that this correlation is shipwrecked by the facts that lie ahead
2. The so-called Pentecostal Movement is not from the top, but from below (that is: by the devil; many phenomena in it correspond to those of spiritism. In it they operate demons that are driven by the devil with cunning and that mix lies with the truth to mislead God's children. In many cases the so-called “with the Spirit” later they showed possessed.
3. Neither the fact that some executives brothers show much loyalty and personal devotion, nor healings, languages, prophecies etc., from which the movement is accompanied, changes our conviction. Already many times these signs have occurred in similar movements, for example in the movement of Irving, in the so-called “Christian science (Christian Science)” e nello spiritism.
4. The spirit of this movement operates on the soul power (human) and body; nevertheless is a false spirit. It is revealed as such. The oddities such as the down on the ground, the contortion of the face, the thrills, the screams, strong laughter and repulsive are also manifested this time in meetings.
   We do not want to judge how much of this is demonic, As hysterical or psychic, but such events are not of God.
5. The spirit of the movement is introduced by means of God's Word, but it suppresses it with the so-called “prophecies”. cf.. 2 Cron. 18,18-22. In a general way these prophecies are a great danger: They manifest the obvious contradictions, but even more: The prophecies here and there reduce the brothers and their work to an addiction enslaved by “messages”. The way of transmitting such messages resembles that spirit mediums. The messengers are mostly women. Consequently in many places women, even girls, are labor leaders. This is contrary to the rules of Holy Scripture.

It is impossible to recognize that such a movement is from God.

Of course it is possible that in the meetings the Word of God to bear fruit because of the power that dwells in it. inexperienced brothers are deceived by these blessings of God's Word. But they do not change the character of the movement, cf.. 2 Cor. 11, 3-4. 14.

The community of believers in Germany must humble himself deeply for allowing this movement could fill us. We all (signed) we recognize ourselves to blame for our failings and neglect, especially regarding the intercession. The lack of biblical knowledge, of seriousness and vigilance, a superficial concept of sin, of grace, the conversion and the new birth, an arbitrary exegesis of the Bible, the desire to learn new and exciting phenomena, the inclination to exaggeration, but first of all the pride, everything has smoothed the way for this movement.

In a particular way the false doctrine of the so-called “pure heart” It was fatal to many groups (of believers) and it facilitated the Pentecostal Movement. This error, according to which a believer pardoned and sanctified there is no longer the nature of sin. We believe that the Lord can and will preserve your every stumbling and falling, (1 Tess. 5, 23; Judah 24-25; Apr.. 13, 21) and that they have the power to dominate the sin through the Holy Spirit. Although there is the continued preservation we not ever receive a heart so pure that we no longer have to confess with Paul: “I do nothing by myself; But by no means I am justified.” Even the believer progressed must humble themselves before God, which it is the sole judge of the true state of hearts, cf.. 1 Cor. 4,4. “If we say we have no sin, We deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us” (1 Thurs.. 1,8).

In Germany, the well-known leader of the Pentecostal Movement is pastore Paul. He is also the first promoter of these unbiblical doctrines that we rejected. We love him as a brother and we want to actually serve him and the ranks of his followers. We were sorry to cope publicly against him. There were some exchanges of views and exhortations in the presence of a few and the many brothers. Since everything was in vain result we must declare for his sake and for the work's sake: We, the undersigned brothers, we can not longer recognize as a guide and shepherd communities.

With love, faith and hope would recommend it to corrective grace of the Lord.

We believe that there was only one Pentecost: proceedings 2. We believe the Holy Spirit who dwells forever in the Church of Jesus, cf.. Thurs.: 14,16. We realize that the Church of God has always been visited by the Holy Spirit and that it needs this. Each individual believer is warned by the apostle: “Be filled with the Spirit!” (Ephesus. 5, 18). The way to achieve this is the full communion with the Signore crocifisso, resurrected and glorified. In Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead, from which we receive grace upon grace. We do not expect a new Pentecost, but the Lord's return.

 

Let us pray for all our brothers love the Lord and His work that the devil wants to destroy: Do not have nothing to do with this movement! Which of you has fallen under the power of that spirit withdraw and pray God to forgive him and free him. Do not be discouraged in the struggles that many of you will have to incur. Satan will not leave his booty. But be assured: The Lord will support you. He already released a lot and want to give you the real armor of the Spirit.

Objections and Answers

We expect that some brothers will find it difficult to believe that the Berlin Declaration teaches us. So we answer some objections. But first of all we beg the reader to believe that we do not want to judge the Pentecostals, but we feel obliged to unmask the spirit that dominates their movement. Among Pentecostals there are sincere and devoted children of God. But it would be wrong to judge the spirit of a religious movement by the presence of good and sincere brothers who are part.

First objection:

“You speak ill of old things. The riots, the screams, riots, the roll on the ground and all the other disgusting things that accompanied the revival in Los Angeles and in other countries are to be compared to a childhood illness. Now those things are passed. The movement has run purified.”

answer:

The spirit of the time is not dead. Although these hideous events have declined, the spirit is always to. The devil has learned to behave better.

So today it is more difficult to recognize and inexperienced believers are easily deceived.

Second objection:

“Who speaks against the brothers in faith grieves the Holy Spirit.”

answer:

We do not talk at all against brothers in faith, but against evil spirit imitating God and to be unmasked.

Third objection:

“The Lord wants brotherly love. You do not have to create dissension and strife. It would sin against love.”

answer:

Parents who leave their children to play with grenades hurt. Their love is blind and wrong Love. And the elders of the church who do not experience inexperienced believers, young in faith, overconfident do well very badly. Their love is not spiritual, and they do not do their duty. Fourth objection:

“The Pentecostal brothers proved by the words of the spirits, and so they know whether they are from God or from the devil. If someone speaks ill of God he is inspired by the devil and the Pentecostals reject it.”

answer:

Johannes Seitz, one of the signatories of the Berlin Declaration says that such an evil spirit, disguised as an angel of light, in a congregation he has publicly reproached the sins of the people. In another congregation Seitz said that an evil spirit: “Brothers, spirits came out in the world to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. fifth objection:

“One of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is the discernment of spirits. This gift is among the Pentecostals and through it identifies the spirit.”

Sixth objection:

“These gifts (prophecies, languages, healing etc.) they are biblical. If you pray to God to give such a gift, the devil is left out and can not give a gift from him.”

answer:

Why not? Where is the evidence that Satan can not intervene if it please God?
Have you never read: “He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination!” (Proverbs 28:9). It's still: “The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD”. (Prov. 15:8). Yet: “Then call me, but I will not answer; I will seek me early, not find me.” (Prov. 1:28). They also read the words in Isaiah 1:12-17 and Amos 5:21-24.

Every believer, born again, He is asking the Lord for the baptism in the Holy Spirit, It is in contradiction with the Holy Scriptures. Seventh objection:

“The brothers Pentecostal deceive themselves. All those events have the effect of auto.”

Some Pentecostal brothers themselves have realized that they were possessed and sought help from non-Pentecostal brothers for deliverance from those gifts that had previously accepted such gifts of the Holy Spirit. Il Pastore Friemel, for example, after for some time the interpreter of the messages in languages, realized that his “gift of interpretation was not Biblical, but a satanic imitation. He struggled for so many years, until the Lord delivered him from the spirit deceiver, disguised as the Holy Spirit.

Unfortunately, today's believers often are not enough sanctified, and therefore do not have the spiritual authority that we want to expose and drive out evil spirits. These are hidden even in the bosom of the community. Until are not disturbed, They remain quiet or disguise themselves as angels of light as it happens between the Pentecostals. Where are the believers truly sanctified and purified, washed in the blood, who with faith and perseverance cry to God, so unmask the false spirits that behave as angels of light?

Eighth objection:

“If the Pentecostals are in spiritual danger we must approach them to our meetings.”

answer:

Those who allow themselves to be corrected yes, others do not! Here because:

1. The spirit that dominates their movement is overbearing and would intrude even in our meetings.
2. Their spirit and attracts many of our being very naive believers do not realize the danger. 3. This spirit, once he entered the community, it is very difficult to hunt. Almost always the consequence is some cleavage. Prevention is better than having to repress!

Ninth objection:

“In the bosom of the Pentecostal communities occur miraculous healings. It is therefore clear that God acts in their midst.”

answer:

You want to say that all healing is from God? This is not true. The devil imitates God in so many ways, Also healing the sick. per it. the sect “Christian Science” (Christian Science) occur miraculous healings, yet it is certain that the sect is not in communion with God. Therefore, neither miracles, or signs, nor healings, or speaking in tongues, or any other extraordinary event can in itself prove that God is the one who intervenes. But we believe that the Lord, If believers are praying heart and with perseverance, will answer their prayer and force the evil spirit to manifest its true nature.

Conclusions

If the devil was unable to put the believers to apostasy, tries to bring intemperance. Woe to us if we allow ourselves to be deceived by his cunning. So we want to watch and engage our senses (Apr.. 5,14) to discern good from evil.

Here are some Bible verses that we want to warn and help to discern the lie from the truth:

1. 2 Cor.11:14: Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
2. 1 Thurs.. 4:1: Try the spirits whether they are of God.
3. Mat. 7:22: Many will say to Me in that day: lord, lord, have we not prophesied in thy name?, and in thy name have cast out devils?, and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will they: I never knew you:, depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
4. 2 Tess. 2:9-12: The coming of the lawless one will be, after the working of Satan, with all manner of deceit of unrighteousness to the detriment of those who are perishing, because they received not the love of the truth to be saved. And therefore God sends them a working of error that they should believe a lie:; so that all those who believed not the truth, but they had pleasure in unrighteousness, they are judged.

Who meditates these words of Sacred Scripture can understand that believers must always watch. In our day, Satan often walks about like a roaring lion, but is presented as an angel of light, with prophecies, with the gift of languages, with healing, with miracles, but its purpose is always to: “He looks for someone to devour” (1 Pietro 5:8).

We also believe in the gifts of the Spirit (1. Cor. 12 e 14), but we reject each i m i t a t i o n and such gifts. The experience forces us to say: Many brothers have accepted with great lightness of some “owner” without experiencing the spirit from which it came, and were deceived.

An example is the “gift of languages” which still it is by many regarded as proof that you have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. I was told that in a Pentecostal family a girl 12 years, as the first family member, He began to speak “in languages”. Those present welcomed the “baptized in the Spirit”, but no one has tried the spirit. Yet the child disobeys his mother and tells lies! It would not be so difficult to conclude that the gift is not from God, as the Scripture says: “Sons, obey your parents in the Lord! God gives the Holy Spirit to those who obey Him” (Ephesus. 6:1; proceedings 5:32). What about the lies we read: ” Tell the truth to each other. Liars will not enter the Kingdom of God ” (Ephesus. 4:25; Apoc. 21:8). No one tell me that the child has received his gift of languages ​​from God. And no one tell me that this example constitutes an exception and generally the spirits are immediately tested.

Here's some evidence that Satan gives the gift of languages

“Try the spirits, whether they are from God! Do not believe every spirit!” (1 Thurs.. 4:1).

On the other hand the apostolo Paolo says about the believers: “We all have been baptized by one spirit (1 Cor. 12:13); but not everyone has the gift of languages” (1 Cor. 12:10.30).

In The Evangelical the 1972/73 on page 89 the “Assemblies of God” declare: “The Italian movement is related to the great awakening of Los Angeles 1906”. We can not consider a move to Los Angeles “great awakening”, but we must consider it as a work spiritualistic. And although the hideous events of that time today fell, the spirit of the time is always. Even if they convert people we can not change our conviction. Johannes Seitz said that “everyday people were converted”, but the spirit which operates when Jesus cursed because of persevering prayer was forced to make known its true nature.

Paul rebuked the Corinthians because they were ready to receive another spirit.

During the interview with the wife of a Pentecostal pastor I said: “We need the gift of discernment of spirits”. Immediately he answered: “My husband has it!” We will not leave you impressed by such words! Many think he had that gift without having! Of course it is not difficult to discern the spirits whether they are manifested by tremors, by rolling on the ground, with shouts, with stammering etc.. But if those evil spirits imitate Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the Father himself, it changes appearance and becomes more difficult. Spirits are able to say: “I, the Sir, I'm with you. Be cautious, be careful! Do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits!” It was with such hypocrisy the devil deceives souls and instead to try it trust on him. Oh, you who do not believe that there may be such deceptions, do not be children in knowledge, but wake up and be sober, so that our opponent is always exposed more! The day is near, the night is, We do not sleep, us wake up!!

TIPS TO PREVENT THE EVIL SPIRITS, TRANSVESTITES FROM ANGELS OF LIGHT, GET INTO IN OUR COMMUNITIES’

5. We are sober and do not let strange and exciting experiences. Happiness, that some experience when they speak languages, It corresponds to a spiritual drunkenness that is not from God. The feeling of peace and happiness does not prove that God acted.
6. We have the courage to speak openly of the danger that threatens our meetings today: The lack of sobriety. We must warn the younger brothers and inexperienced.
7. We speak well of the ugly consequences of magic. 11. Let us realize that the prophecy in Joel 2:28-32 It was accomplished at Pentecost (proceedings 2:16-18) and that we should not expect another fulfillment of that prophecy. In Israel however it will be given another outpouring of the Holy Spirit when you convert to the Lord (That is 3:4-5; Zac. 8 – 14; Isaiah 61:6: Rom. 11: 25-27).

THE DUTY OF THE CHURCH OF ELDERLY

The spirit of the language has penetrated various evangelical denominations and Catholic circles. The walls among Christians and nominal Christians are cleared.

How we will behave the elders of our churches?

They will leave fooled by deceptive spirit disguised as an angel of light? Then they will not do their homework. Recall Malachi 2:7: “The lips of the priest shall keep knowledge, and from his mouth seek the law, for it is the messenger of hosts. But you have gone astray …”

The elders will be silent for fear of criticism? Then you will see that they have not the spirit of the Apostle Paul who said,: “For am I now trying to conciliate the favor of men, namely that of God? Or do I seek to please men? If I yet pleased men, I would not be a servant of God” (Gal. 1:10).

The elders will be silent for fear of grieving the Holy Spirit? Those who obey the Holy Scripture must never be afraid to make the Holy Spirit sad. Now the Bible tells us: “Try the spirits whether they are of God”. So there is nothing to fear if we feel the spirit before allowing them to enter into our communities!

The elders warn the flock of which are responsible? Then the Lord will bless them and will use them to save the souls of. For them it will be worth the words we read in Mat. 24:45-47: “What ever the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them their food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his master, coming, find so doing! I tell you the truth that will set him over all his possessions.

The infidels will be hit elderly instead of words similar to those that we read in Isaiah 56:10: “His watchmen are all blind, without intelligence; are all dumb dogs, can not bark; dream, they are lying, amano sonnecchiare”.

We do not judge the members of the Pentecostal Movement, but it is our task to unmask the spirit deceiver and warn all believers to pay attention to the cunning of the serpent of old. Today there is much talk of love, union, brotherhood, of communion among believers. They are good and right, but do not forget: Who proclaims the truth of the Gospel must also mention the error, of false doctrine and spirit of the deceiver.

The Bible warns us of false Christs, false prophets, false apostles, false brothers, they preach a different Jesus, a different spirit, a different gospel, teaching perverse things, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils and distracting their ears from the truth. Scripture repeatedly tells us to turn away from those who pose a danger to our spiritual life (Rom. 16:17; Tit. 3:10; 2 Cor. 6:14 – 16).

Jesus praises the angel of the church of Ephesus in the following words:

“I … I know that you can not tolerate wicked men, and have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and you found them false (Apoc. 2:2).”

Jesus rebukes the Angel of Pergamum and to Thyatira: “You have those who … the doctrine of the Nicolaitans. Repent (Apoc. 2:15)! You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce my servants (Apoc. 2:20)”.

The spirits seek to enter in people to make their instruments. Therefore in 1 Thurs.. 4:1 read of spirits and soon after the false prophets:

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God:; because many false prophets are gone out into the world”.

Brothers in the Lord, in Jews 13:7 is written: “Your watch conductors for your souls, as they that must give account”. We feel, therefore, the souls we have to feed, so with joy and conviction we can say with the Apostle Paul: “I testify against you today that are pure from the blood of all; for I did not shrink from declaring unto you the whole counsel of God” (proceedings 20:26).

This. 3:17: “Son of man, I have set thee a watchman for the house of Israel … I will require his blood at your hand”.

proceedings 20:28: “Take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you vers. 25 to shepherd the church of God … I (Paolo) I know that after my departure savage wolves will come among you, not sparing the flock … Therefore watch!”

1 Tim. 4:16: “Take heed to yourself and to the teaching”.

1 Tim. 4:1-2: “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils;”.

1 Pietro 1:13: “therefore, gird up the loins of your mind, hope fully on the grace that is to be brought at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
